In the Southwest corner of Victory Heights sits the beautiful Kingfisher Natural Area, an immersive temperate forest that overshadows the babbling Thornton Creek as it meanders through a grotto between Victory Heights homes. Wander the myriad trails to discover a surprising array of wildlife in an urban forest, and listen for distant calls of owls, hawks, and even coyote throughout the ravine. This space is maintained by the Thornton Creek Alliance, Green Seattle Partnership, and Seattle Parks & Recreation, all of whom are looking for volunteers like you to help protect this treasure. Access points can be found at 20th Ave. NE and NE 98th St., 20th Ave. NE and NE 102nd St., and NE 105th St..
